"People can and do change their sexual orientation. I've done it, and I've helped others do the same," states psychotherapist and educator, Richard Cohen.

You and/or a loved one can come out straight! Through seventeen years of clinical experience and conducting hundreds of healing seminars throughout the States and Europe, Mr. Cohen has developed a comprehensive approach to healing hetero-emotional (Opposite-Sex Attachment Disorder = OSAD) and homo-emotional (Same-Sex Attachment Disorder = SSAD) wounds.

The following are recommended steps toward healing which have proven successful for men and women around the world:

Step One – Please read Coming Out Straight: Understanding and Healing Homosexuality (additionally, watch the Coming Out Straight video/DVD presentation and/or listen to the Healing Homosexuality audio tape series).

If you are a parent, please read Gay Children, Straight Parents: A Plan for Family Healing. Click on the Resource Materials page to order books / video / DVD / tapes / CDs.

Step Two – Consultation / Evaluation with coaches Bob Abbott or Hilde Wiemann.  After reading Coming Out Straight and/or Gay Children, Straight Parents: A Plan for Family Healing, you may contact IHF (Tel. (301) 805-6111 or e-mail at info@gaytostraight.org) to set up a personal consultation/evaluation. Mr. Abbott and Mrs. Wiemann will help you to develop a personal treatment plan and make recommendations for further healing and growth, or help you with your child.

Step Three – Teleconferencing Classes (TCC). We offer classes for Parents and Strugglers. Please click on Teleconferencing Classes for more information. Through psycho-educational presentations (30 minutes) and personal coaching (60 minutes), all group participants will receive individual assistance.

Step Four – Love / Sex / Intimacy Healing Seminars (LSI). These healing seminars take place five times a year in the Baltimore area (outside the BWI airport). It is a time for deep healing of the heart, mind, body and spirit. The seminars are geared towards relational issues and personal or family healing (please click on the Seminar page for more details). LSI Seminars are appropriate for OSAD and SSAD issues alike. We also offer Mother-Daughter Healing Seminars and Father-Son Healing Seminars. Please check the schedule for dates.

Step Five – Family Healing Sessions, involving parents and children, are a way to resolve longstanding conflicts and create greater intimacy. This one-to-two day session is especially helpful in removing blocks that inhibit deeper communication between parents and children. Through these Family Healing Sessions, you may:

● Reconcile painful issues between family members

● Discover and uncover reasons for present day conflicts

● Restore and/or create love and secure attachment between parents and children

● Learn communications skills and how to create greater intimacy

Family Healing Sessions are a wonderful way to open the channels of communication within the family. Through these intensive sessions, relationships have been restored and healing achieved in a matter of days, rather than waiting years to resolve resentments.
